“Everywoman” Artist Statement
This necklace is meant to be a sarcastic commentary on the glut of mass market ultra minimalistic jewelry currently available. Worn on a person, nothing nefarious stands out; it is a minimalistic pendant with an organic forged toggle clasp. Placed in a different perspective, it is clearly a coke straw and spoon.
The idea behind the name, “Everywoman,” is that it can go seamlessly from library to church to the board room to grinding your teeth in a club bathroom at 5am. Wherein so many current contemporary pieces are marketed to the “versatile, strong, independent woman,” this is the one that you can actually take from day to evening to the next dawn.
