What is permanent jewelry?
Permanent Jewelry is the process of welding a jump ring closed on a chain so there is no clasp or anything that can open and fall off. Less commitment than matching tattoos, more fun than split heart “BFF” pendants of the 1990’s, our chains are a great way to symbolize the connections of friendship, love, lust, to commemorate a shared event, or just get one for you!
How much does this cost?
The cost is 49€ per bracelet (regular 59€), incl. VAT for a Sterling Silver or Gold Fill bracelet.
What are my chain options?
We currently offer a selection of 925 Sterling Silver or 14K Gold Fill chains. We currently have in gold fill; figaro, paperclip, round cable, curb, and a textured paperclip. In silver we have rolo, rectangular cable, flat curb, small and medium figaro, diamond cut cable, and flat cable chain.
What is Gold Fill? Will it tarnish?
Gold fill is essentially a middle ground between plating and solid gold. Most plating is only a few microns (a few thousands of a millimeter) and will wear off quickly. Solid gold is just that, solid gold, and will last forever but comes with an appropriate price tag. Gold fill is made by bonding an outter layer of 14K gold to an inner base metal. The surface is a minimum of 5% solid gold, meaning it contains practically an infinite amount more actual gold material than plating. It will not last forever, but will last for a long time.
Can you chain up other body parts?
We currently only offer bracelets, stay tuned for further options.
Can I bring my own chain?
No, this service is currently only offered with chain provided by us.
Define “permanent” please.
Our bracelets are permanent in the sense that there is no clasp that can catch and open, the bracelets are welded shut. This being said, we are not responsible for your lifestyle choices. If you work with heavy machinery or engage in other activities where the bracelet could snag on metal objects, this may not be for you.
If you decide to remove the bracelet, household scissors or nail trimmers will generally do the trick. Feel free to reach out to us if it is more convenient to come by the atelier.
What if I need an MRI?
The bracelet should be removed, and we can zap it back on for a small fee.
What about airport security?
You’re good. Permanent jewelry does not need to be removed for metal detectors.
And if it breaks?
Reach out to us to schedule a repair and we will do our best to chain you back up.
Does it hurt?
No, the welder simply zaps the jump ring closed. There is no open flame nor heat on the body.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 24 hours before you appointment you can receive a full refund. If it is less than 24 hours, you can receive a full value credit for a future appointment good for 1 year. If you do not inform us you will be missing the appointment, the payment is forfeited.
Do you do events or parties?
Yes! Please fill out the form below for detailed information, but we can come to you within the Berlin AB zone for a minimium of 8 bracelets, or the C zone for a minimium of 12. We are also always interested in popups with other small businesses.
