6 Hour Intensive: Cast a Gemstone Ring

Our 12 hour Mega Sandcasting Class is now being offered in a quicker 6 hour version. In this class, you will carve a wax ring and cast it yourself in Sterling Silver, with the option of including gemstones cast in place.
What: 6 Hour wax carving and sand casting workshop
When: Private classes scheduled per availability thru summer 2024
Where: Volksluxus, Naunynstr 52 10999
Cost: 375€/ 1 person, 645€/ 2 people, or reach out for group rates. Includes up to 15 grams Sterling Silver, synthetic stones, wax, studio tools, and handouts. If you wish to make a heavier ring, additional silver is available for purchase, as are natural sapphires and diamonds.
Part 1
We will start carving a simple band or signet ring in wax and discuss technical considerations of sand casting. The casting process and safety protocols will be demonstrated and if there is time you will begin casting your rings.
Part 2
We will begin by casting your rings in silver if we have not yet, and then discuss the varying processes for filing, sanding and polishing. You will do every step of the process yourself and leave with a ring that you made with your own 2 hands.
General Info:
This course is designed with the beginner in mind, so no experience, no problem. Class size is limited to 4 people, when it is filled up it is filled up.
For the summer months, this class will only be available to be booked privately, 375€/ 1 person or 645€/ 2 people
